Another day where I didn’t print anything - more a day of admin and prepping so these two shots were taken on my walk back to the station tonight. I thought they worked well together.
I had a workshop today so not time to print something for myself. These were a couple of observations on the way back to the station this evening.
A busy day in the studio today so not much time for photos but I did take this quick pic of some of the prints I made in between chatting to lots of lovely customers
I made some test prints with the lunaria from yesterday and this tiny print caught my eye for today’s journal entry (photographed against the texture of my battered old studio floor).
Also, this is the fern that was chosen for the commission in the end
After spying these growing by the station last night, I peeled the lunaria seed heads earlier and collected all the seeds. I’m hoping to plant quite a few in the garden here. My journal entry for today is a photograph of these beauties against the September (!) sky. Where did that last month go?
I made some prints for a commission yesterday so I put them together in a single image so that they could choose the one they wanted. Personally, I’m drawn to the first two
A made a few more hexagon prints this morning. I’d love to do a large installation of these.
Signs of autumn to come on our walk out in Bickerton this afternoon. I find this time of year has a tinge of sadness, these last days of summer.
I remembered I had quite a few blank hexagonal woodblocks after I found these three previous cyanotypes at home so I started prepping the surfaces and planning designs ready to use next week.
A selection of this morning’s prints and happy faces from the afternoon’s workshop
I’ve spent most of this afternoon printing and this particular jacaranda leaf print is my favourite from today. I’ve been trying to grow and nurture this plant/tree in my kitchen for the last two years and I’m not sure how much it’s thriving, especially when I keep picking leaves off to print with! I’ve always loved this tree when I’ve seen it growing in Spain and Morocco so I’m not giving up yet.
I had a workshop today so other than tidying my studio (much needed!) and prepping papers for the workshop, I didn’t have much time to do my own work. I did print this little postcard first thing as I’ve got a new batch of wooden postcards and I wanted to see how well they’d come out - I’m happy with the results so I’ll be printing more of those tomorrow.
